Physics Laboratory

  Physics Laboratory

Physics comes alive at Kalgidhar National Public School when students move from the textbook to the workbench. Our Physics Laboratory is a safe, bright and well-organised space where learners of the senior classes carry out the experiments prescribed by CBSE and build a clear understanding of how the laws of nature work..

What the laboratory offers

  • Apparatus for the CBSE practical syllabus covering mechanics, optics, electricity and magnetism, and electronics.
  • Measuring instruments such as vernier calipers, screw gauges, ammeters, voltmeters and multimeters.
  • Optical benches, lenses, mirrors and prisms for ray-optics experiments.
  • Spacious student worktables, good lighting and ventilation, and a store room for orderly keeping of equipment.

How students learn here

Students work in small groups under the guidance of the subject teacher and a lab assistant. They learn to handle instruments carefully, record observations accurately, draw graphs and arrive at conclusions on their own. This builds scientific temper, patience and precision, and prepares them well for the board practical examination and for competitive examinations.

Safety first

Every practical session begins with a briefing on safe handling of electrical and glass apparatus. Students are required to follow laboratory rules at all times.
